Heretics are the only ones who reject the triune nature of God. The reason JW's have such a hard time with it is because they deny the tri-partite nature of man. Despite the fact that in the bible "spirit" and "soul" of man is referred to using pronouns, which shows personhood - such as he, her, them, they... JW's HERETICALLY claim that they are inanimate like electricity, or an attitude.
JW's believe like materialists do when it suits them.
Jesus was a man just like anyone else here with a body, soul, and spirit. That is why he is FULLY MAN. Also, his Spirit shares the indivisable essence of God, the SPIRIT who begot him, which makes him FULLY GOD. It's pretty easy to figure out if you just use the definitions that the Bible supplys and don't try to make up your own.
This is why all of the following words are appropriate in addressing Jesus:
Lord
Jesus
God
The Firsborn (most prominent) of Creation
The Alpha & Omega
The First and the Last
The Author and Finisher of our Faith
The Bread of Life
Eternal Father

Why do most Ex jW W‘s seem to be liberal?
by JaredScott-1977 ini’m just curious about this dynamic i don’t care personally one way or the other but i do have friends who have chosen to be conservatives and they get totally destroyed on social media pages for their choice.
it’s almost like a lot of ex jw w become as toxic and his judgmental as jehovah’s witnesses themselves what’s up with that?
i also know conservative ex jw’s that can do the same so again i’m not leaning one way or the other i’m just noticing factual observations.

The religion is a deeply literalist fundamentalist one.
@ TonusOH
Are you kidding me? They use symbolic interpretation like an artist turning a blank canvas into a paradise scene. They are the very antitheisis of a literal interpreter of the bible, with all their types and antitypes. They have denied almost every single fundamental element of the Christian faith.
They are as opposite as you can get from a literal, fundamental believer.

What is Your Favorite WT Lie?
by Sea Breeze ini would like to start a thread on lies that the watchtower and their reps have told.
surely we all have one or two that truly sticks out in our memories, no matter how much we would like to forget.
my favorite wt lie: the reason they don't want to release the name of the "scholars" who worked on the new world translation is because they do not want to accept "glory and honor" from others.

My favorite WT lie: The reason they don't want to release the name of the "scholars" who worked on the New World Translation is because they do not want to accept "glory and honor" from others.
In 1954, in a Scotland trial, Fred Franz, then head of the Watchtower Editorial Board, admitted that he himself was the one who had checked the accuracy of the translation and recommended its publication. (Douglas Walsh v. The Right Honorable James Latham Clyde, M.P., P.C., etc., Scotland, 1954, (1958 ed.).p.88.)
The following is from the trial transcript: -
(Q): Insofar as translation of the Bible itself is undertaken, are you responsible for that?
(A): I have been authorized to examine a translation and determine its accuracy and recommend its acceptance in the form in which it is submitted.
Later, Franz was asked about his own involvement in the translating(Douglas Walsh v. The Right Honorable James Latham
Clyde, M.P., P.C., etc., Scotland, 1954, (1958 ed.).p.92)
(Q) : Were you yourself responsible for the translation of the Old Testament?
( A ) : Again I cannot answer that question...
Here, under oath, Franz refused to confirm or deny he was the translator of the Hebrew text. Why wouldn't he say that he did not translate the Old Testament? The court also wondered "why" and asked :
(Q): Why the secrecy?
(A): Because the committee of translation wanted it to remain anonymous and not seek any glory or honour at the making of a translation, and having any names attached thereto.Oh! The humility.
What's your favorite WT lie?

Duran,
All of us are born with an inherited corruption from Adam that ensures we will inevitably sin. This is often referred to as original sin. While God created Adam and Eve in His own likeness (Genesis 5:1), the Bible says that, once Adam and Eve fell and became sinful, Adam fathered children “in his own likeness” (Genesis 5:3, Romans 5:12). All human beings have inherited a sinful nature through Adam’s original act of disobedience; Adam became sinful, and he passed that sinfulness along to all his descendants.
The Bible does not directly address an age of accountability for children. But, one verse that may speak to the issue indirectly is Romans 1:20, “Since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.”
According to this, mankind’s guilt before God is based, in part, on a rejection of what can be “clearly seen” of God’s existence, eternality, and power. Children who are too young to understand things “clearly seen” or reasoning about God in general, should be excused from condemnation in my opinion.
Regarding Lazarus
I think your reasoning on the Lazurus question on why he died again, is based, in part, on a Watchtower corruption of the word "death". This a PRIMARY method of deception that the WT employs, changing definitions.
I personally like to refer to Websters 1828 dictionary so that I can get biblical definitions commonly understood after the Reformation and before the rise of modern materialism. .
DEATH
- In theology, perpetual separation from God, and eternal torments; called the second death Revelation 2:10.
- Separation or alienation of the soul from God; a being under the dominion of sin, and destitute of grace or divine life; called spiritual death
EX. - We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. 1 John 3:1. Luke I.
Ex. - Gen 35: 18-20: And it came to pass, when she was in hard labour, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also.
18 And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Benoni: but his father called him Benjamin. And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Bethlehem.
So, according to scripture, when Lazarus died, his body became separated from its soul / spirit. But, he was not in a position to accept the gift of "everlasting life" because his soul / spirit still posessed a sin nature and the atonement had not yet been offered.
"For the wages sin pays is death, but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord"
The bible is clear that our crimes go with us when we die. The idea that we get a clean slate when we die and thus deserve life (reintergration of soul/body/spirit) is totally a WT fabrication, and only serves to minimize the magnitude of the choices we make.
There will be a personal judgment after we die (Hebrews 9 27). Unless we have a blood covering (and the belief needed to accept it) found only in the new covenant, we will be resurrected (body, soul, spirit rejoined) to stand trial in the flesh at the Great White Throne, after the 1000 yr. reign. This is called the Resurrection of Damnation, the 2nd death.
This is not the fate for believers who agree to "die" now, and a receive a new spirit. Believers get judged after they die as well, just not at the GWT. The are judged at the Bema Seat, aka "The Judgement Seat of Christ". This is a "believers Judgment" for rewards based on performance as a Christian, and not to determine salvation or guilt. For the believer, that was all settled at Calvary.
The New Testament teaches, as Martin Luther put it:
"born once, die twice; born twice, die once"

Newborn babies are not "men".... probably go straight to heaven if they die.
Regarding Lazarus: I coulnd't make out your point. Are you wondering why he died again after being resurrected? If so, it is because he was a sinner.

@ Duran,
But here comes the ridiculous unfair part.
It was decided (by God) that Adam and Eve's children and every person born thereafter would automatically be born sinful/not perfectAparently Adam was truly King of the planet, with authority and dominion over all that was in it, including all of its potential.
When he fell, he took it all with him. God vested all of it in him - Adam.
"For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope 21that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. 23And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit" - Romans 8: 20
subjected to suffering and death, while claiming that they still will have freewill.
It appears that both sin and free-will somehow both inhabit fallen man. Hence why our species is so unstable.

I could have the freedom to love, to choose to follow/deny God, and so on, while still having full mastery over sin. This, I think, is the ideal. With one exception, I would be free to live and love without risking eternal damnation.
The problem with trying to find an adequet correlation, is the magnitude of God. Some people don't like the fact that he owns everything. And, I mean that in the highest possible meaning of the word "everything". So, when we choose to reject God, who is good... we are at the same time rejecting everything that is, good. There is no other relationship that can come anywhere near the correlation of this.
Some people may feel that this gives God an unfair advantage in the relationship. So what? Are we supposed to ask God to be something other than what he is in order for us to feel better about ourselves? Then we would have the unfair advantage.
God is not asking us to be something other than what we are. I didn't ask to have a sin nature. It has caused a lot of problems in my life. He took care of that problem on Calvary. And, as far as all the screw ups that I have been subjected to by others, and the ones I am guilty of myself, God makes this incredible promise:Romans 8: 28 - "we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. 29For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified".
The bottom line is that a member of our own species, Jesus - God incarnate, willingly took it upon himself to broker a deal, as a Mediator, that is basically acceptable to both parties. God doesn't have to be something other than what he is, and we don't have to be something other than what we are.
He asks us to believe him, trust him, and love him. I can't always obey God. But, I can always believe him. And, it is because the New Covenant is such a sweet deal to all parties involved that I can for the most part enjoy the work that someone else has done in the past at Calvary, and the work that is continuing through Sanctification and the work of the Holy Spirit.
God is changing me while at the same time working with my free-will because I gave him permission to do so. It is hardly noticible most of the time. I did the math 20 years ago and decided that trust in other people was a recipie for diaster. Trust in myself was only marginally better. So, he's sort of the last to try. After 20 years, I can report that the plan works. I was a 4th gen JW.
I like the fact that we have gotten to know each other without the pressure of the punishment of sin hanging over me. I like the fact that God has worked with my intellect and desires to craft a redemption plan , just for me - so that I can prove to myself what is that "good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God". - Romans 8: 28
I have found the Lord to be very accomodating, and only hash on extreme occasion. It is acceptable.
Sorry to ramble on a bit.

You seem to be saying that the concept of free will is just a description of our ability to make any decision.
Since the Fall, I don't think we really have the extent of Free-Will God created man with.
But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. - Romans7:23
In other words, a moral virus, separating us from God entered into the family of Adam and holds us captive.
if my only options are to have free will with all of its attendant consequences, or be an unwilling automaton in a universe where no one ever suffered, how is the former the better option?
Again, love is a potential artifact of Free-Will. Automotons cannot love since they lack agency, volition and free-will.
